Employers Should Take Steps to Ensure that Arthritic Employees Stay at Work
According to a recent report on arthritis, a huge number of employees have been thrown out of employment due to the ailment, and they blame their situation completely on arthritis. It has also been found that two thirds of these employees had asked for suitable adjustments to be made to their employers, but only 36% of them actually received positive responses.

The survey has pointed out that the most important factor in health support for such workers is the understanding approach of the employer. The results of the survey has instigated the charity to launch an ‘Employers’ Pledge’ that would encourage the employers to do their best in ensuring that the workers can get back to work.
Rachel Haynes, Arthritis Care’s director of public affairs, said that though the market is still recuperating from the economic downturn, businesses have to ensure that they have all-inclusive workforces that help a larger section of the society.
She suggested that employers ought to be made aware of the government schemes relating to health care. She added that simple steps like using special chairs etc. could greatly help ailing employees to stay in work.
