The Media Guardian awards were created to acknowledge cutting edge innovation across the media industry, this year saw over 400 entries from a range of different sectors, Red Bee Media scooped the award in the face of very stiff competition.

Red Bee Media won the Media Guardian Mega award for their outstanding job at broadcast design with Dave, formerly known as UKTV G2, winning launch of the year following its repositioning as “the home of witty banter”. The judges praised the rebrand, saying: “Dave did a fantastic job of rebranding an ailing product. The relaunch gave a nondescript channel a strong personality overnight.”

The Red Bee Media team played a key role in the broadcast design and execution of Dave’s distinctive name, brand identity, on-screen presentation and launch advertising campaign.

Red Bee Media has also worked with the BBC to strategically set out the new positioning of the channel, its brand personality and tone of voice. As part of this, it has created a range of innovations for the channel’s junctions from user generated content as presenter links, to opinion slots called ‘Three Views’. Reemah Sakaan, Head of Marketing, BBC THREE, Comedy and Entertainment at the BBC echoes this innovative approach for the BBC: “BBC THREE is a digital pioneer and we are very excited to have created a brand identity that both captures this maverick spirit as well as trailblazes content branding for a multi-media youth brand”.
